College athletes, especially football, are not college material anymore. They are carefully selected and propped up to pretend to be intellectually capable of college level learning, but they simply are not. It's a sham.

Hi Dr Blair: I was watching a series on Netflix called The Resident and there's an actress who plays the part of the hospital administrator that reminded me of you. The resemblance is uncanny, you could be sisters. Actually, I thought it was you until I looked her up, her name is Merrin Dungey. Anyway, she reminded me so much of you that I had to stop by and say hello. I hope you're well Take care.

Similarly, it annoys me when people incorrectly use “seen” instead of “saw”. Many people say “I seen this yesterday”. Also, instead of saying an item is broken many will just say “it’s broke”.

The reason that language exists is to enable the transmission of information. That is it. Language pedants are irritated that they received the intended information but the grammar or syntax or pronunciation was not to their liking. If information has been transmitted then language has been successful.

Statistically, the more guns in a populace in the hands of everyone, and NOT JUST CRIMINALS, the less crime there is. And you need to read the Bruen Decision. Also, you've never been in a fire-fight, you have no clue how many you need until you're done. And your emotions don't trump anyone's Right to have the beat means to defend. Further, firearms restriction leads to enhanced levels of violence with worse weapons. You're more likely to survive being shot than stabbed. Arm youraelf with objective facts, and your own trai ing and arms. Stop fearing objects you can just as easily employ in your own defense.

Many years ago, my cousin was marked wrong on a spelling test on the word "flow". My aunt noticed the word seemed to be spelled correctly and questioned the teacher for marking it wrong. She replied that wasn’t the word she said when giving the test, and proceeded to speak the "correct" word in a sentence: "I dropped my pencil on the FLO"! 🙄 A teacher. A certified elementary teacher.

I can't believe that you got hate for this. The comments under your video seemed to be so positive. You are doing great and helping to educate. This is the issue in the black community, when a black person speaks with proper English and pronunciation, they are harassed by the same community and that is the problem. I don't think that people should be offended when they get corrected on proper grammar and pronunciation. Anyone bullying you for this is part of the problem.

Um? Opps. I think I already posted this to you, maybe not. However, proper English and diction is extremely relevant. Thus through my life with my handful of black friends with this one little post every one of them took it personal and I was superalloy dissed, then I saw your post and realized that if you want to change this one thing, it’s gonna take a LOT of work. I think it’s cause’ I just happen to be white, asking of a black to make a change, like you’ll come across more intelligent and well spoken, and yada yada. But, I guess, considering our history, a white man can’t just make an innocent comment without being called a racist. So, if you didn’t see it and you do have a few minutes to kill, below is the comment that made me an outcast to my black and white friends. I'm gonna take heat for this, I just know it, especially because I am white and grew up poor, but now hold several degrees... Regarding the speaker, your diction is excellent, one can tell you are highly intelligent. However, I 'actually' heard this first from a person whom I respect a lot; Larry Elder. He said “what I’m gonna say right now, I don’t quite understand? Within the black community there seems to be one word that most blacks pronounce improperly, and personally I don’t understand why? However, it’s so prevalent I cannot overlook it. It’s the work “ask”, like, I’d like to ask you a question. Most blacks, regardless of education pronounce this word like they are saying acts, similar to one acts in a play. The word comes out sounding like the word ‘axe’; like a pick axe. I don’t understand why this one word is pronounced incorrectly by so many of our educated people, even some very prominent black leaders substitute the word “ask” for the word axe.” Too often, and because this is so prominent in the black speaker or writer, it comes off as a negative, like the speaker is uneducated and not well spoken, thus the speaker is often shunned and rejected when too often these individuals are in other words educated, intelligent, smart.” Like I said, most of these words are coming from Larry Elder, but some are my own. I notice it often enough with black friends or coworkers that it makes me wonder as well. However, while it might not seem like much, proper language is important to the appearance of intelligent as well as being respected among your peers and within your community. Marty

Between the ages of 13 and 16, I was educated in the UK. I didn't speak a word of English before moving there. What saddens me the most about British people is just how unbelievably careless they are with the English language. The 'we was' and 'you was' mistakes are widespread amongst 'indigenous' Brits. I also constantly come across people struggling to distinguish between when to use THEN and THAN. The other very common mistake I see is the widespread use of 'would OF', 'could OF', and 'should OF'. It truly makes me sad seeing so many being so careless needlessly.

Lol! At least I’m one of the physicians who will adjust my opinions as information becomes available and not double down on stuff that clearly isn’t working. I’ll also readily admit when I’m wrong. This video was made in April 2020. Folks were dying left and right and doctors didn’t know how to treat it. We were building the airplane in the sky. We didn’t have vaccines or medications to prevent or treat anything. I wouldn’t have kept the lockdowns in place for as long as some places did. In my subsequent videos I discussed how our immune systems would be shot bc we were all locked up for 2 years. I actually think we currently need to stop wearing masks completely, and now treat Covid-19 like we do the flu or a common cold. If you have mild symptoms and feel well enough, you should be able to go to work and school and everything else. One should only have to stay home if one is febrile. In my first video, I also said that whatever we did would be viewed as wrong. It looks like that DID age well! 😊 Peace and love!

To preface, I know this was a long time ago, but don't back down! Just because there are a ton of people saying something the wrong way doesn't make it right. Everyone should strive to be correct and there's nothing wrong with that. Millions of people steal things every year, are we going to start saying that stealing is correct now just because there are tons of people who do it? Of course not! We should never be ashamed or apoligetic for telling people what the correct way to do something is. If we keep letting people slip and do this gs the wrong way we're headed right towards that movie idocracy.
